[Processing Requests](https://docs.mineos.ai/knowledge/dsr-handling#processing-requests) # How to Redact a Data Subject Request ## Redact a Data Subject Request to anonymize the user's personal information. #### About redacting Data Subject Requests As part of the deletion request handling process, you can redact a request after it has been successfully closed so all of the user's personal information will be anonymized. **You can:** 1. Redact any closed requests automatically 2. Manually redact closed requests **Before redacting a request:** - Close at least 1 request #### **How to redact closed requests automatically** ![](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/Group%2040528-png.png?width=307&height=500&name=Group%2040528-png.png)     To get started, click on your company logo at the bottom lefthand corner of the sidebar navigation and select "**[Settings](https://portal.saymine.com/company-settings/general)**".         Under the "Configuration" tab within the "DSR Requests" section of your settings, toggle on "Redact closed requests automatically" in the PII Redaction section.  ![Screenshot 2023-10-05 at 14.01.16](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202023-10-05%20at%2014.01.16.png?width=600&height=524&name=Screenshot%202023-10-05%20at%2014.01.16.png) Upon enabling, any request will be redacted automatically upon closing.  **Important:** Once a request has been redacted, it cannot be reversed.  #### To redact closed requests manually 1. ![](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/Group%2040535-png.png?width=139&height=500&name=Group%2040535-png.png)       First, head to your [Requests page](https://portal.saymine.com/requests).           On the upper lefthand corner, set your filter view to “Closed” requests. ![](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/Group%2040560-png.png?width=600&height=407&name=Group%2040560-png.png) Next, select the closed request you’d like to redact. ![](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/Group%2040562-png.png?width=600&height=406&name=Group%2040562-png.png) On the request’s page, select “Redact this request” (see image).  ![Image 20-01-2026 at 8.04](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/Image%2020-01-2026%20at%208.04.jpeg?width=260&height=260&name=Image%2020-01-2026%20at%208.04.jpeg) After redacting a request, the request will be shown on the Closed Request page as follows: ![](https://docs.mineos.ai/hubfs/image-png-Jun-21-2022-01-44-49-02-PM.png) **Note:** Before redaction, you must close all open requests from the same data subject.
