# Connect Your Okta SSO to Data Source Discovery

## Learn how to connect your company's Okta account to discover your organization's applications and users.

#### Before you start

- Make sure your MineOS plan supports SSO Discovery.
- Make sure you have access to the Okta admin dashboard.

**Step 1:  Get the base URL **

Sign in to your Okta account and click on the top  right corner where you see your name and copy the second line, the one with the format *{your-account}.okta.com*

**Step 2: Create an API token**

1. Select **Security** -\> **API**
2. Go to the **Tokens** tab, and click on **Create token**
3. Name the token **MineOS Radar**
   ![](https://docs.mineos.ai/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jun-19-2023-11-58-28-8399-AM.png?width=381&height=207&name=image-png-Jun-19-2023-11-58-28-8399-AM.png)
4. Copy the token's value somewhere safe. You won't be able to view it again.
5. Verify the token was created with read-only admin permissions (or higher).

**Creating tokens with custom permissions**

By default, tokens are created with the current user's permissions. For creating a token with custom permissions, follow Okta's guide: https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/How-To-Create-an-API-Token-With-Custom-Permissions

**We usually ask customers to create a token with the 'Read-Only Administrator' role to avoid issues, but if you would like to set specific scopes, see the required scopes table below.**

**Now, you can connect the integration:**

1. Login to your MineOS account.
2. On the left sidebar, click **Discovery** and then **Radar.**
3. Click "Set up now" and under "Single Sign-On" click "Okta":

4. Paste the Base URL & API Token you copied from the previous steps and click "Test & Save":

5. Once you complete the steps, you should get a message saying the connection was successful and that discovery has started.
