Navigating assessments in MineOS

Separate your assessments into three distinct modules based on use case - Privacy, Vendor Management, and AI governance- so each workflow lives in its own dedicated, streamlined space.

What’s New (and Why)

We’ve redesigned how you navigate assessments in MineOS to make things simpler, faster, and more focused.
The old Privacy module is now split into three purpose-built modules:

  • Compliance - RoPA, privacy assessments, and DPO advisor
  • Vendor Management - Vendor risk assessments
  • AI Governance - AI assets and AI risk assessments

Each module is tailored to a specific use case and user role, helping you stay organized, reduce noise, and manage risks more effectively.

⚠️ Looking for the old "Compliance" tab? Everything you had access to before is still here - just reorganized for easier access.

This article walks you through how these modules work, how assessments are structured, and how to start using the platform effectively.

Navigating the Modules

Each module has a consistent layout:

Page Description
Overview A dashboard with insights and key metrics
Assessments  A filtered list of assessments tied to the module including templates
Other Tools E.g. RoPA in Privacy, Asset Inventory in AI, Risk Overviews in Vendor

Privacy Module

This is your core compliance workspace - formerly called the Compliance module.

Use it to manage:

  • Overview - a dashboard for all RoPA and Privacy related KPIs
  • RoPA (Records of Processing Activities)

  • Privacy Assessments – e.g., PIA, LIA, TIA

    • Privacy templates (including out of the box templates)
  • DPO Advisor – smart guidance to meet regulatory expectations

Vendor Management Module

Focused on third-party risk. Use this module to evaluate vendors for security, legal, and regulatory risk, including DORA compliance.

Key tools:

  • Vendor Risk Overview - A dashboard for understanding vendor exposure

  • Vendor-specific Assessments - e.g. security, DPA, DORA ROI

    • Vendor risk templates (including out of the box templates)

Where to Find Cross-Module Data

If you're looking for a consolidated view across privacy, vendor, and AI assessments, head to the Risk Registry. This gives you a historical view of assessment outcomes regardless of the module they originated from.

Tags, Filters, and Views

To help you manage assessments across teams and use cases:

  • Tags are shared across all modules, so you can organize assessments by topic, owner, or risk.

  • You can filter assessments by status, custom views, or tag combinations.

  • Views are saved per module, so you can customize dashboards independently

Best Practice: Use tags to categorize your assessments. Tags are flexible, powerful, and designed to work across modules.

Note for Returning Users

If you used MineOS before this update:

  • The Compliance module stays as is.

  • Assessment types (e.g., “privacy,” “AI,” or “vendor”) are no longer shared in a single view—they’re now separated by module.

  • Assessment types will be deprecated. Use tags instead for categorization.

  • All your previous assessments and records are preserved and accessible via each module or the Risk Registry.

FAQs

* Can I still access older assessments created in the Compliance module?
Yes! All historical records are just divided according to the module/type.

* Can I use shared tags or views across modules?
Yes. Tags are shared globally, and saved views are scoped to the relevant module.

* Where should I go to build a new assessment template?
Go to the module where you want to use the template. Only templates of that type will be shown or available for creation.
