See the fruit of our labors here, as we periodically release new features, enhance existing ones, and enhance platform performance.

 

August 2024

• Live Assessments 

A new, revolutionary Assessments module enables users to create unique, custom assessments with questions that are linked to the data inventory. New question and answer types, as well as dynamic fields connected to your MineOS portal, enable assessments for any purpose - TIA, LIA, PIA, security, procurement and anything else you can think of - to  be flexible and relevant even with constant data environment changes. 

• New Privacy Rights flows

A more streamlined way to set up privacy rights by request type and by geography is live in the MineOS portal. Now located in the DSR Setup menu, privacy rights are the first criteria by which new requests responses are set up, and the interface makes it simpler to build workflows for handling specific requests, easily configure how MineOS will automatically run through the handling workflows, which data sources you need to include, how to notify the subject and more.

• AI Asset Discovery

Our new AI Assets Discovery feature is a dedicated inventory for your AI-enabled assets. Found under Data Inventory, AI Assets continually finds and organizes the systems, stakeholders and datasets involved in AI data processing across your organization.

• AI Assessments

The second part of our new AI Assets feature is the ability to create assessments of your AI data processing in line with regulations including the EU AI Act. In the AI Assets inventory, simply click on AI Review to get started with a template, which will help record all the most pertinent details required for justifying the asset's usage of data.

Two New Fields in the Inventory

We’ve added two new fields to the data sources in your data inventory - Function (for department) and Review Date, in order to aid in organization. Review Date, for example, makes it easier to filter by Last Updated, which will show the data assets that are most recently completed and therefore those which haven’t been addressed in a while.

• Custom Values and Fields v2

Users can now create custom fields for their data sources, DPIA reports, and Processing Activities. Create a multiple choice or color-coded list of field values, which make it easier to filter and to visually comprehend which fields are present where.

• AI Discovery Sneak Peek

COMING SOON to MineOS is a new pillar feature of our platform, enabling organizations to get thorough visibility and control of the AI assets and tools in use by their employees.

• DSR Improved Deletion

Delete Data Subject Requests in the Requests screen. Delete a single request by clicking on it and then on the ellipses menu at the top right, or batch-delete DSRs by selecting all those you want to delete on the Requests screen and then clicking the red Delete button at the bottom.

• Email Evidence by Data Source

See the past and last interactions that an employee had with any particular data source, evidencing how they use the data source and how often. Select any data source from the Data Inventory and then click on any employee or user of that data source. A popup will show a history of all emails he or she received relevant to that data source. 

• PII Debug Mode

In the Data Classifier module, you can now toggle on Debug Mode. Debug Mode enables you to select on the data source’s Schema page the data type you wish to delve into, and then see the exact values found for that data type. Viewing these snippets is highly secure. To enable Debug Mode and to view data type values requires a password.

• Custom Values for Processing Activities Fields
   

You now have the ability to create custom values for several critical fields in Processing Activities, including Business Unit, Legal Basis (for processing) and Cross Border Mechanism. The addition of your own custom values here is important for providing more detail and accuracy in data privacy audits.

• In-Line Risks and Suggestions in Data Sources

Now, in the Data Inventory and in data sources for which you have already calculated the vendor risk (by filling out the likelihood and severity of these risks), our AI will show the number of high potential risks upfront alongside other details about the data source, rather than in a separate menu.

• Infrastructure improvements

Improvements to the product’s performance and minor bug fixes that have come up as a result of adding so many new features in the last year.

• Custom Views in Data Sources and Processing Activities Tabs
  
  MineOS now offers customizable views in the data sources and processing activities tabs, allowing you to easily select and sort data using filters and columns of your choice. Save and switch between your preferred views effortlessly, enhancing your privacy management experience.
• Custom PII Integrations
  MineOS introduces a custom integration feature for PII management, enabling the connection of any internal system for comprehensive data scans with prompt results, ensuring informed control over your PII. 
• Privacy Center Custom Code Editor
  
  The updated Privacy Center code editor in MineOS transforms into a live "what you see is what you get" tool, allowing real-time visibility of code changes for a more intuitive and efficient user experience.
• Vendor Risk in Data Sources and More
  
  The new Vendor Risk feature in MineOS adds a dedicated Risk section for each system in the Data Inventory, including cybersecurity ratings and tailored mitigation strategies, offering a comprehensive approach to risk management and security.

• Security: Two New Roles and Permissions
  
  We have introduced 2 new roles you can assign to your users: DSR Manager, Data Inventory Manager. The DSR Manager role focuses on efficient DSR Handling, providing access to just the right tools for the job. The new Data Inventory Manager role brings an eagle-eye view of data assets, offering some control over data and the inventory. Read more about them here.
• Custom Integration: Async Copy Support
  
  Custom integration copy endpoint now supports async flow for long-running data collection operations, as well as file support. Just like Mine's built-in integrations, custom integration supports any request type and allows previewing user data. It also supports advanced operations such as handling failures and performing long-running async operations. Read more about it here.
• Data Classifier: Export Schema
  The Data Classifier now allows you to export findings and schema information to a CSV file.
• Feature Updates on the MineOS Portal
  Beamer provides updates on new MineOS features directly in the portal. Just click 'What’s new?' located above the Settings menu on the left-hand side to see the latest updates and learn how to use the new features.

• Data Classifier
  Data Classifier is a new menu showing the systems for which integration (and more thorough data type classification) are an option for you. Our Data Classifier menu displays where Smart Data Sampling or full scans have achieved continuous, exhaustive coverage of all data types and their locations within the data source. Learn more.

• Deep Dive into Your Schema
  Unstructured data sources get more thoroughly mapped with the Data Classifier feature. Get precise information on exactly where your many data types are in systems like MongoDB and MySQL - including the data's server, database, and JSON path.

• Expanded DSR Audits
  MineOS users can now export up to a million records at once. Export DSRs by navigating to your Requests menu in the portal, then clicking on the ellipsis button at the top right-hand corner. Learn more.

• Your Privacy Tasks
  When clicking on the Tasks tab in MineOS (the very top-most option on the left navigation menu), each role will now see only the tasks assigned to them.

• DSR Autopilot
  With the new DSR Autopilot feature, MineOS users can initiate automatic scheduled responses per request or category of request, directly from the DSR Handling -> Requests screen.

• New Catalog
  Our data assets catalog is now organized in a new way. The visual update to your data inventory puts your top services within each category front-and-center. Filter by usage and other metrics with a new view and menu.

• Custom Data Types & Subjects
  Rather than pick from a predefined list of data types, now you can add a custom data type and subject. Custom data types may be specific to a process at your company - for example if you’re using AI to create new data, or even just to label your Australian employees. Create policies for this data and build specificity into your RoPA.

• Update Your Logo
  Update the logo on your own, in the settings. This makes your privacy portal more branded for a stronger internal presence regarding data operations.

• VPN Tunneling
  For Enterprise plan customers: VPN tunneling through the Settings menu enables you to connect a gateway to our portal, create a new IPSec tunnel and then encrypt traffic between set routes that you define.
