Assessment Notes

Add notes on any question to centralize communication and collaborate more effectively on assessments.

What You Can Do Here

  • Add contextual notes to any question in an assessment.

  • View all notes in a single, organized pane.

  • Tag colleagues to reference them in discussions.

  • Quickly see which questions have notes with visual indicators.

Features

Adding a Note

To add a note to a specific question, click the note icon next to the question title. A text box will appear in the Notes Pane.

  • Start typing your comment. The 'Add Note' button becomes active after you type a character.

  • Click 'Add Note' to save it.

  • Once a note is added, a blue indicator will appear on the question's note icon, showing the number of notes.

The Notes Pane

Access all notes for the assessment in a single place. You can open the Notes Pane in two ways:

  • From the top of the assessment: Click the main 'Notes' button. This shows all notes, with the most recently active conversations at the top.

  • From a specific question: Click the note icon on a question. This opens the pane and filters it to show only notes for that specific question.

Each note displays the question reference, the message, the author's email, and the date.

Tagging Colleagues

Draw attention to a note or assign informal responsibility by tagging users.

  • While writing a note, type @ to bring up a list of all agents and collaborators who have access to the assessment.

  • Select a user from the list to tag them.

Important: Tagging a user is for reference only. It does not send them an email or in-app notification.

The 'Notes for Me' Tab

To quickly find conversations relevant to you, open the main Notes Pane and select the 'Notes for Me' tab. This view filters the list to show only notes where you have been tagged.

Deleting a Note

To remove a note, find it in the Notes Pane and click the 'Dismiss' button.

Warning: Deleting a note is permanent and cannot be undone. It will be removed for everyone with access to the assessment, and the note count will update accordingly.

Navigating to Questions

From the Notes Pane, click on the body or header of any note to be taken directly to the corresponding question within the assessment. This makes it easy to see the context of a comment.

How Does It Work

The Notes Pane is organized to bring the most recent conversations to the top. Here’s how notes are sorted:

  • Question Groups: Notes are grouped by question. The question groups themselves are sorted by the date of the newest comment. A question with a recent comment will appear above a question whose last comment was older.

  • Individual Notes: Within each question's group, notes are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest.

Troubleshooting

The 'Add Note' button is disabled

  • Cause: The button remains inactive until you begin typing.

  • Fix: Type at least one character in the note text box to make the 'Add Note' button clickable.

I tagged someone, but they didn't get an email

  • Cause: The tagging feature is for reference and organizational purposes only. It is not designed to send notifications.

  • Fix: If you need to ensure a colleague sees your note, you must notify them through a separate channel like email or Slack.

I deleted a note by mistake. How do I get it back?

  • Cause: Deleting a note via the 'Dismiss' button is a permanent, irreversible action.

  • Fix: Unfortunately, deleted notes cannot be restored. You will need to add the note again manually.
