Features

The Templates Catalog

The new Templates page provides a centralized catalog for discovering and managing all assessment templates.

  • Template Gallery: A visual gallery at the top of the page showcases MineOS's library of pre-built, expert templates.

  • Your Templates: Below the gallery, a list displays all the templates you have saved to your workspace. This is where you will manage your custom templates and create assessments from them.

Using MineOS Templates

MineOS templates are designed to be a starting point. You must save a copy to your workspace before you can use it.

  1. Find a template in the Template Gallery and click 'See preview' to review its content.

  2. In the preview window, click 'Save as template'. This adds a customizable copy of the template to the 'Your templates' list.

  3. You can now use your saved template to create assessments or edit it to fit your needs.

Important: You cannot create an assessment directly from a pre-built MineOS template. You must first save it to 'Your templates'. This ensures you always start with a version you can control and customize.

Managing Your Templates

For any template in the 'Your templates' list, you can perform several actions:

  • Create assessment: Start a new assessment using that template.

  • Preview: View the template's structure and content.

  • Edit template: Make changes to your saved version of the template.

  • Duplicate: Create another copy of the template in your workspace.

  • Delete: Permanently remove the template from your workspace.

Save an Assessment as a Template

If you have created an assessment that you want to reuse, you can save its structure as a new template.

  • While viewing or editing any assessment, use the 'Save as template' option.

  • This captures the assessment's questions and structure into a new, reusable template that will appear in your 'Your templates' list.

Best Practices

  • Customize Before You Scale: Always save a MineOS template to your workspace and make any necessary edits before creating assessments from it. This ensures consistency and reduces the need for rework later.

  • Templates are for the Future: Remember that editing a template only affects new assessments created from it. Changes will not automatically update assessments that were already created.

Troubleshooting

I edited a template, but my existing assessments did not change

  • Cause: Template edits do not apply retroactively to assessments that have already been created. This is by design to prevent unintended changes to in-progress or completed records.

  • Fix: To use the updated template, you must create a new assessment. If you need to update an existing assessment, you will need to make the changes manually within that assessment itself.
